When You Change – Everything Can Change For YOU!

When Darren Hardy directed SUCCESS magazine some twenty years ago, each issue included an audio CD. One of my all-time favorite interviews was with the legendary Paul J. Meyer. I’ve  posted it on Wellness Zone.

This is the kind of interview that can change your whole life.

Not long after it was released, Darren received a letter from a new subscriber describing his first encounter with SUCCESS. He’d been at a party and borrowed a friend’s car to make a quick beer run. When he started the engine, the Paul J. Meyer interview began playing.

At one point in the interview, Darren asked Paul how he had kept “the magic” alive in his marriage for so many decades. Paul explained that he purposely continues to court his wife. Every morning, he crafts a plan to make her feel beautiful, respected, and loved that day.

That moment pierced David’s heart. His own marriage had been “magicless” for some time, yet he had never considered that he might be the one responsible—or the one who could change it.

Instead of buying beer, David drove straight home. Sitting beside his wife, he took her hands and said,
“Katie, we both know our marriage has been struggling—and I just realized why. I’ve been wrapped up in myself. I haven’t been giving you the attention, respect, and love you deserve. That changes tonight. From now on, every day, I’ll find a way to make you feel beautiful, respected, and loved.”

Tears filled her eyes. She had believed their marriage was over.
“I was days away from my wife leaving me when I heard that interview,” he wrote to Darren. “That CD saved my marriage. Paul Meyer’s example showed me how to become the husband my wife deserves. The past year has been the best of our lives—we’ve never been happier.”
